The Stay-at-Home Mom’s Uniform – #WIWW

I had such an amazing response from stay-at-home moms regarding my getting dressed post in August – What I Wore After Getting The Hairy Eyeball.

I wanted to give an update that I have been getting dressed daily since last summer! (bells and whistles)

But honestly … it doesn’t matter how dressed up I get …Or even what accessories I pick …

No matter how great my hair looks … (ahem) all of my hairs …

If I’m not clothing myself in God’s Word daily  - I will not be ready for anything!  Maybe all stay-at-home mom’s need a uniform …

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12

  1. Yes, ma’am! I definitely need to be sure I’m putting on that uniform daily. Thanks for reminding me of the verse and for helping me see it from a different perspective.

(I’ve been told I have Brooke Shields eyebrows. Very dark and thick. I’ve been plucking them FOREVER! ;) )

  2. The days when I don’t start with his word, I may as well stay in bed….because it is going to be a failure….all through and through…..more ‘word’….more ‘peace’!!!!

  3. i feel the same way- unless i start my day in God’s word, i feel nak3d! LOL thanks for the encouragement.

  4. Enjoyed this post.

  5. Thanks for this reminder. I slack off in caring how I dress when I’m home all day. But I should never slack off in what I wear spiritually. Thanks for this!

  6. Great post! Very true. I love the blue top and necklace!

  7. hilarious photos of you as you do your do and photograph it – only a mommy blogger could pull that off! it’s so true – I use lipstick to brighten me (suffer chronic illness- RA) so it really makes a difference to get up get dressed and Pull it together – but, like you said, no matter WHAT I do – I’m not fully clothed – and I ‘m just plain NO GOOD without the Word! thank you for this reminder :)

  8. great reminder for all of us.

  9. LOVE this!!! Thanks for a simple, yet profound, reminder, Stef!

  10. I’ve been thinking along those same lines as we get ready for church each sunday. I spend extra time in front of the mirror making sure my hair and make up is just right. I put on extra good clothes. But, do I spend the extra time getting my heart right? sigh….room for improvement there!

  11. I love this post and I love this verse! What a fabulous reminder! Thank you!
